Dairy Farm Assistant | Renown Dairy, Waikato
Pāmu Farms of New Zealand is hiring a motivated Dairy Farm Assistant for its Renown Dairy unit in Waikato District. This full-time fixed-term role runs until May 2026, with a competitive hourly pay of $29–$31, depending on experience and ability. On-site accommodation is included.

This position involves a variety of farm duties, from daily milking and calving support to feeding, fencing, effluent spreading, and general stock care. Full training is provided, so candidates with limited dairy experience are welcome to apply as long as they bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist with once-a-day milking in a 60-bail rotary shed.
- Monitor calving, ensuring animal health and welfare.
- Prepare and distribute feed to the herd.
- Operate effluent systems safely and sustainably.
- Spray for weeds and pests as required.
- Maintain and repair fencing around paddocks.
- Monitor herd health and record key observations.
- Operate farm machinery, including tractors and quads.
- Support farm operations such as drafting, vet visits, and team projects.
- Clean equipment, yards, and milking systems after use.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines at all times.
Requirements
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Agricultural or dairy husbandry training (NZQA or similar) is an advantage.
Experience:

1–2 years of dairy or livestock work preferred.

Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply with training provided.
Skills & Knowledge:

Team player with good communication skills.

Ability to identify animal health issues.

Confident operating farm machinery.

Strong work ethic with initiative and problem-solving mindset.

Basic knowledge of fencing, pasture care, effluent systems, and animal safety.
Location
Renown Dairy, Waikato District (between Taupō and Rotorua). This is a fully on-site role with housing provided.
