About the Job
Tradestaff is recruiting an experienced Farm Hand / Skilled Labourer to join a busy farm based in Hamilton, Waikato. This is a hands-on, full-time role where no two days are the same. The position suits someone with practical farming experience, confidence around livestock, and the ability to operate machinery safely.
Farm Hand / FarmHand
You will be involved in livestock care, general farm maintenance, machinery operation, and skilled labour tasks, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the farm.
Key Responsibilities
- Feeding and caring for newborn calves, including colostrum and meal feeding
- Tube-feeding calves when required
- Building, repairing, and maintaining fences and water systems
- Weed control, pasture maintenance, and general farm cleaning
- Operating tractors, utes, motorbikes, and other farm equipment
- Basic machinery servicing and assisting with crop work
- Record keeping and supporting wider farm duties
- Constructing and repairing wooden, concrete, steel, and wallboard structures using hand and power tools
- Following all farm safety, environmental, and operational policies
Requirements
- Full Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence
- Previous experience working with livestock
- Confidence operating farm machinery and equipment
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Legal right to work in New Zealand (this is not a sponsored role)
